A context menu will appear, allowing you to choose whether to create a value node or a callback node. Select &#8220;Value Node.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the example below, the &#8220;Light Switch&#8221; signal will be set to <em>true<\/em> when the location is loaded in Portal Hopper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generally, the &#8220;Set&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/docs\/world-builder-flow\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"236\">flow<\/a> input will update the value of the signal. The new value is pulled from any node that is connected to the value input.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Image-Sequence_055_0000.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1240\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of a boolean node, you could use another signal&#8217;s value node to set the value of the &#8220;Light switch&#8221; signal (see image below). In this way, you can also use signals as variables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Image-Sequence_056_0000.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1241\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signal Callback Nodes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Drag a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/docs\/world-builder-what-are-signals\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"205\">signal<\/a> from the list of signals on the lower right side of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/docs\/world-builder-logic-editor-2\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"157\">logic editor<\/a> into the grid. A context menu will appear, allowing you to choose whether to create a value node or a callback node. Select &#8220;Callback Node.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever the signal&#8217;s value is updated, the &#8220;On Value Changed&#8221; output of the callback node will forward the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/docs\/world-builder-flow\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"236\">flow<\/a> to the connected node. In the example below, the &#8220;Light Switch&#8221; signal&#8217;s new value will change the visibility of the Light object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Image-Sequence_054_0000.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1238\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keep in mind:<\/strong> When a signal&#8217;s value is updated and its &#8220;always inform&#8221; property is <em>false<\/em>, &#8220;On Value Changed&#8221; will only trigger a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portalsunited.com:443\/docs\/world-builder-flow\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"236\">flow<\/a>, when the new value is different from the old one.
